ATEEZ members from oldest to youngest
- Seonghwa: April 3, 1998, turns 28 in 2026
- Hongjoong: November 7, 1998, turns 28 in 2026
- Yunho: March 23, 1999, turns 27 in 2026
- Yeosang: June 15, 1999, turns 27 in 2026

The classic mix-up: the leader isn't the oldest. Hongjoong leads the group, but Seonghwa was born seven months before him. Together they're the "98 line." Five members were born in 1999 (Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi and Wooyoung), the "99 line" that makes up the heart of the group. Jongho, the only 2000-born member, brings up the rear.
When you see the members listed in their usual order (Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung, Jongho), it's by age, with one exception: the leader goes first.
Each ATEEZ member in a nutshell
Hongjoong, the captain
Kim Hong-joong is the leader and main rapper. He writes and composes a big share of the group's songs, which makes him ATEEZ's creative engine. Fans call him "Captain," a nod to the pirate concept the group debuted with. He's also deep into fashion and showed his own collection, Petit Coussin, in November 2025.
Seonghwa, the eldest
Park Seong-hwa is the oldest member. Vocals, rap, performance: he does a bit of everything, with an eye for detail ATINY love. He shines in dark, intense concepts and is often named among the group's visuals.
Yunho, the powerhouse
Jeong Yun-ho is one of the main dancers. Tall and always smiling, he brings sunny energy to interviews and stages alike. He sings too.
Yeosang, the quiet one
Kang Yeo-sang doesn't say much, but he leaves a mark. Vocals, rap, performance: he fits in anywhere, with a calm charisma that earns him a spot among the visuals.
San, the intensity
Choi San is a main dancer and lead vocalist. His stage expressions are his trademark. His friendship with Wooyoung even has a fan name: "WooSan."
Mingi, the deep voice
Song Min-gi is a main rapper alongside Hongjoong. A very low tone and a big presence: when his verse drops, you know it.
Wooyoung, the spark
Jung Woo-young is a main dancer and vocalist. Endless energy, a great sense of humor, and the other half of WooSan.
Jongho, the powerhouse maknae
Choi Jong-ho is the youngest member and the main vocalist. His strong, steady high notes are a highlight of every concert. Fun fact: he's also famous for splitting apples with his bare hands.
ATEEZ's debut and the TREASURE story
Before debut, the future members trained at KQ under the name KQ Fellaz. ATEEZ debuted on October 24, 2018 with TREASURE EP.1: All to Zero and the title track "Pirate King." Their first album series, TREASURE, follows eight companions on a quest for treasure, which is where Hongjoong's "Captain" nickname and the pirate imagery still tied to the group come from.
Then came the FEVER, THE WORLD and GOLDEN HOUR series, with two new GOLDEN HOUR chapters released in 2026, in February and June. New to ATEEZ? Start with a live performance rather than a music video: the stage is where they built their reputation, and it's usually where ATINY fall for good.
"Eight Makes One Team": the ATEEZ motto
The group always introduces itself the same way: "8 makes 1 team! Hello, we are ATEEZ!" The idea is simple: eight very different people who only work as one team. It became the fandom's rallying cry, and it's the line on our ATEEZ Eight Makes One Team tee.
The name ATEEZ comes from "A TEEnager Z": teenagers from A to Z, and a group that wants to speak to everyone. The eight of them are sticking together, too: in July 2025, KQ Entertainment announced that all members had renewed their contracts for seven more years. So the group stays with KQ, the agency that built it and also manages xikers, their junior group.
What about military service?
Seonghwa and Hongjoong, both born in 1998, are first in line. In February 2026, Seonghwa said each member would enlist when the time comes, like any South Korean citizen. No date had been announced by the agency at that point, so take the schedules floating around social media with a grain of salt.
The ATINY fandom
ATEEZ fans are called ATINY, a blend of ATEEZ and destiny: the group and its fans were meant to find each other. ATINY are known for their energy at concerts and their loud, tight fanchants. Curious about other fandoms? Here's our list of K-pop fandom names.
How to pick your ATEEZ bias
No rush. Watch a fancam of each member on the same song: it's the fastest way to see who pulls you in. The group's variety content shows another side, usually a funnier one. And if a second member starts messing with your choice, that's normal; there's even a word for it, the bias wrecker. The whole vocabulary is in our post on what a K-pop bias is.
Wear ATEEZ: zip hoodie and tee
Found your member? We've got two pieces for ATINY:
- The ATEEZ zip-up hoodie with all 8 members' signatures on the back and the logo over your heart, in heavy fleece and four colors (€44.99). Perfect for the queue before the show.

Everything lives in the ATEEZ collection. It's fanmade, unofficial merch, made to order: allow 1 to 3 weeks from order to delivery, with free shipping from €20. Sizes are Asian, so if you're between two, go up.
